About this certification
The Assistant Test User (ATU) programme is the recognised first rung on the BPS-aligned occupational testing ladder. Over instructor-led sessions you learn to administer, score and securely handle psychometric instruments under supervision — the essential groundwork before progressing to Test User Ability and Test User Personality qualifications.
Training is led by Wing Commander Paulson Joseph (Retd), a BPS delegated assessor who has held the British Psychological Society Level A/B certificate in Occupational Testing since 2006. You practise on real instruments, follow professional and ethical test-use standards, and leave ready to support qualified test users in assessment projects.
